Welcome, I’m Anna, the owner and educator at Pinpoint Permanent Cosmetics. For over eight years, I’ve been helping women transform how they look and feel as a permanent makeup artist. I truly love how something as simple as perfectly shaped brows or a subtle eyeliner enhancement can lift someone’s mood and boost their confidence.
My journey into permanent makeup began after 8+ years as an esthetician in the beauty industry. Then, I did the unthinkable—I flipped a house with my parents. (Not recommended unless you have six months to spare!) But that experience helped me fund an advanced permanent makeup education with a European PMU company. At the time, Europe was far ahead in permanent makeup techniques, and I knew I wanted to bring that level of artistry and quality back to Iowa.
In addition to working with clients, I also train aspiring permanent makeup artists through my education programs. Sharing the techniques and standards I’ve refined over my career has become one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
When you step into my salon, my goal is for you to immediately feel like you’re in the right place. I believe that Iowans deserve access to amazing permanent makeup, where quality, safety, and artistry come first.
When I’m not at the salon, I’m spending time with my husband, our two sons, and our labradoodle, Milo.
I approach permanent makeup with the mindset of “What would I want on my face?” My style leans toward enhancing your natural beauty—subtle, timeless, and designed to age gracefully. Dramatic or trendy looks are best left to topical makeup, as I always take into consideration not just how your permanent makeup will heal, but how it will look 5–10 years from now.

Connecting with people is one of the many things I love about being a permanent makeup artist. I thrive in doing detailed work and enjoy rising to challenging situations. My friends and family would say I have a really easy going personality. Aside from spending time with them, I love trying new foods and going to concerts. To date, I’ve seen to over 100+ live bands, too many now that I’ve lost count. But my long lasting makeup tips and tricks for those hot summer days are tried and true!
I generally like to start more conservatively with your permanent makeup, unless you know you are looking for something more bold. I listen closely to my clients requests and concerns, and thoroughly explaining everything for a calming, stress free appointment.
